Suffragettes arrested by police: Annie Kenney and Christabel Pankhurst

Annie Kenney and Christabel Pankhurst were dedicated suffragettes who paved the way for others. They were the first to be arrested, in Manchester in 1905, for causing an obstruction at a political meeting, where they shouted at liberal politicians:

Will the Liberal Government, if returned, give votes to women?

They were arrested by the police and send to prison for 14 days.
