Religious discrimination today

On the 25th November 1981, the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted a Declaration on the elimination of all forms of intolerance and of discrimination based on religion or belief.

However, in spite of the advances that have taken place in the last decades, the disregard of the right to freedom of thought, conscience or religion is still common nowadays and it can still lead to conflict and human suffering, as witnessed by the treatment of the Copts in Egypt or Christians in Nigeria.
