This is an extract from the testimony of Cornelia Paselli, survivor of the massacre around the church and cemetery in Casaglia. She lost her mother and two 10 year-old twins (Gigi and Maria) in the cemetery. Her father before the liberation of Italy had been wounded by a grenade while a prisoner of the Germans. Cornelia fled to Bologna and only returned to Monte Sole in September 1945 after the liberation for the first commemoration of the massacre.
