Why it is an issue?

On 30 November 1939 the Soviet Union attacked Finland and the Winter War began. The Second World War had started three months earlier when Germany and the Soviet Union invaded Poland in accordance with the Molotov – Ribbentrop pact. The Soviet Union’s attempt to occupy Finland was a part of the secret pact that the country has made with Hitler’s Germany.
