Marzia Gigli

Born in 1971, she graduated at the University of Bologna in 1995 in modern history with a thesis on methodology and didactic of history regarding the educational transposition of Braudel's “Civilation, economy and capitalism”. She worked and published on the theme for many years after, with a particular focus on world history educational research. Since 2003 she has worked as head of the historical?educational department of the Peace School Foundation of Monte Sole, Marzabotto, Bologna, Italy, an institution that has been reflecting since 20 years about the meaning of making peace and citizenship education on a place of tragic memory, and does practical educational work with students and adults.
