Elarbi Imad

Elarbi Imad, founder and Executive Director of the Moroccan Center for Civic Education. He received his BA degree in applied linguistic from Mohammed V University in Morocco and a diploma in teacher education from the ENS, Ecole Normale Supérieure in Rabat In 1994. In 1996, Mr. Imad received MA credits in Education at the University of Reading in UK. He had also got a diploma in teaching in 1981 from the Teacher Training College in Casablanca. Mr. Imad worked from 1981 to 1992 as a teacher of English. From 1996 to 2002, he was appointed by the Ministry of Education as a test designer and member of the National Item bank Team to design national final examinations. Mr. Imad has been working as a teacher trainer and acting as a department chair since 2002. In 2003, he founded the Moroccan Center for Civic Education that has become a leading institution in civic education in Morocco. Mr. Imad is also the Executive Director of the Center and has been working closely with the policy makers from the Ministry of Education and the Higher Council for Education as well as other public and private institutions to enhance the values of citizenship and sustain the civic education programs. Mr. Imad has been leading many national, regional and international projects in civic education funded by MEPI, USAID, HED, Planet Finance, US Department of Education, FNUD, Center for Civic Education, California, Bowling Green State University and other local funders.
