Alan Midgley

Alan Midgley , born in Rochdale, Lancashire (U.K.), is a history teacher from England. He attended the Bury Grammar School, and then the Worcester College, in Oxford. He then obtained his M.A. in Modern History at the University of Oxford. Alan Midgley taught history at the Pocklington School, East Yorkshire, during the years 1964-68; later he served as Head of History at Oundle School, Northamptonshire, for almost thirty years, from 1970 to 1997. He was Chief Examiner in `A` level History in the Associated Examining Board between the years 1987-2001. He finally started (in 1997) to do extensive teaching and work as an advisor in Central and Eastern Europe, including occasional projects with EUROCLIO and the Council of Europe.
